Everything Must Come To An End

Everything must come to an end, including our ABC's unfortunately...
X is for...The opposite of X-Rated
That's right, kids. Clean cut, knife pleats, purity of form, whiter than white, wholesomeness. I actually really like this because I'm so fed up with all this sex appeal that's starting to pop up everywhere. Everything must be sexy these days which is hard for me as I'm so un-sexy it's scary. One time a boy called me "hot" and I think I almost fainted with disgust. I don't like sexy things at all. On the oter hand, white is very very appealing and so it wholesomeness. So here are so wonderful pictures for inspiration...

Y is for...Yummy
Foody fashion. That is all I can say.

Z is for...Zoology
Possibly my favouritetrend of the lot. You can go so mad with this trend. I mean, it doesn't even have to be animal print-it can be prints OF animals! Hat's with ears, bags with tails, fur...go wild. I'm so punny. Do you get it? Do you get my joke?

Antibiotics Make You Worse

As I said before, I've been a bit ill recently and got put on antibiotics on Saturday. However, what I thought would make me better, has made me worse. I've felt nauseous all day, been unable to eat and what makes everything worse is that we're having hot dogs for dinner. Boo you, Antibiotics! Anyway, without further or do, let me introduce the letter "U" (poetry, is clearly my strong point).
U is for...Underdog
When I first saw this, I was really confused about what it meant. The tag line read:
"How can London possibly be squeezed out of the schedule when it was universally considered to be the most exciting of all?"
I stared blankly at it for ages until I realised that the fashion show the writer attended featured now designers from London! You can read the full article here to get a better understanding of the show. I don't know about you, but in my opinion that's very bad. Very bad indeed! I thought British fashion was going up in the world in a big way, so why then were they not featured at this show?
On one hand, it can be a good thing: British fashion as had a lot of attention recently so maybe it's time other countries were given a chance again. But on the other hand, why forget about London? I personally love British fashion (though being Welsh, I can be pretty biased). Don't forget British fashion, I beg you! We have so many great designers with fresh, new ideas...Just remember the Brits when you go shopping next...For me?

V is for...Vivaldi's Four Seasons
This may also sound confusing but think of it as this: winter fashion in spring, summer fashion in autumn. Being a lover of all things woolly, I found this a great idea! Especially as my summertime mostly consists of rain and gloom! If you're a bit confused as how to pull this one off try wearing a cable knit jumper wit a maxi skirt and flip-flops or corduroys with a crop top. You could even try wearing a really summery outfit with a bobble hat and scarf though you might end up looking like an even more disfunctional Where's Wally (or Waldo, depending on where you live).
W is for...Waves (otherwise known as peplums)

For all you technical people, the peplum trend is great as it gives the illusion of an hour glass figure. But if you're more like me (the kind of person who prefers the sight rather than the idea behind it), peplums look really cool anyway.

More Letters

P is for...Pyjamas "for public consumption"
That is literally what it says on the website-no joke. I'm not quite sure what they be by that, you know, because I'm so clever and everything. But I thought the idea was pretty cool anyway. I personally love my pyjamas and since it's the Easter holidays in the UK, I've been living in them for the past 5 days before I was dragged outside on a "family walk" which consisted of walking to a cliff, turning around and walking back again. It finished with me being trapped in a coffee shop between our table and the chair of a very middle class woman who's child was called Persephone. Fun times. Anyway, by wearing your pyjamas as an outfit, I don't think the designers meant sweat pants and a tank top with stripy slippers. They mean stuff like this...

It is a VERY hard look to pull off so my equivalent is wearing jumpsuits with woolly cardigans and palazo pants with a jacket in the same print. Take inspiration from these ladies (and the mannequin).

Q is for...Quaint
On the website it was "Q is for questionable decision" which made no sense to me except maybe changing your wardrobe around a bit. I don't know. Well being British (Welsh, not English though I love some of the English accents) I like "quaint" things. Quaint means "attractively unusual or old-fashioned", and I think that's why I love the word so much. I actually looked it up on Google images to try and find some examples of quaint things to show you but I didn't quite get what I wanted. I was faced with very oh-I-do-like-to-be-beside-the-seaside pictures with some Jam and Jerusalem villages thrown in.

This is basically what I mean. I think you get the idea...

R is for...Rumours
I know this has hardly anything to do with fashion but it's actually something I'd like to talk about. I have so much hate for rumours. There are so many going around in my school at the moment it's unbelievable. What I find worse is, once someone hears a rumour, they pass it around to everyone regardless whether they know if it's true or not. And what if the rumour was true? What if the person you were talking about didn't want their news to be out for everyone to hear? I know recently, a friend of mine had a rumour spread about her b a girl who she'd never even spoken to before. It wasn't a particularly vicious rumour but it was a complete lie and it made her out to be something she wasn't. What's more is that my friend had people coming up to her saying "I know something about you..." and walking away. Why would anyone do that? Luckily, we managed to stop the rumour before it got too out of hand by confronting the girl about it. I think the only reason I like rumours, is that I find out amazing things about myself I never knew about. So, what I really want to say is, next time you hear a rumour do the person a favour by not passing it on.

S is for...Snake skin jeans
For someone who's afraid of snakes and doesn't like wearing animal skin, I actually love these. I think they have this really lovely Lara Croft vibe. Plus, with today's trends, you can wear them wit practically anything you like. I like the fact you can buy them in different colours so if you're quite so you can buy the black or grey colour ones that aren't so eye-catching.

Don't you just love Kate Moss's wellies? ^^^^^^^

T is for...Twenties
After going to see "The Artist" at my local Vue I kind of fell madly in love with twenties style. I think it's the glamour of it all I really like. After we saw the film, we went into Miss Selfridge and we were surrounded by all of these lovely twenties dresses. I did try one on but it was a size too big. Unfortunately, people take twenties fashion for granted and write it off as a load of skinny women wearing brown and smoking long cigarettes like their lives depended on it. I think they look really glamorous and people should dress like this era more often. For her prom last year, my friend wore a gorgeous, black, twenties style dress with black sequins and tassles. She even ad one of those little hats! Everyone said she looked wonderful and she ended up being prom queen.

There you have it...I'll post more tomorrow! I have some kind of virus, so posting will probably be more frequent from now on. Also,  it's good practise for my English Language exam in May...not that I'm using you or anything.

Happy No-Post Anniversary

So, I realise I haven't posted for exactly a month which means I have broken my promise to you yet again. I'm such a bad person! But I have GCSE's in a month so please, please try and understand my lack of posting!  Unfortunately, revision has been an inexplicable part of my life recently. You have no idea just how jealous I am of everyone who doesn't have exams!
I understand we got up to "j" last time? Right...
K is for...Kristen Stewart
However much you love or hate her you can't deny she's making a comeback for the release of the last Twilight film this year (I'm going to try and be as non-biased as possible here, okay?). It surprised me that she turned up in a front row of a fashion show, sitting next to Kirsten Dunst. Not to stereotype but I didn't think she was the "fashionable" type, especially after hearing rumours that she once turned up to a red carpet event in jeans and Ugg boots. I also happen to think she's really pretty, regardless of what I've heard and that we should keep an eye on her in the fashion world.

L is for...Leather
"Leather? In summer?" I hear you say. YES! Have you not seen the leather shorts on sale lately?
Just look at these lavly ladies in their leather outfits for summer. However, to avoid looking gimpish, I'd lay off the black. A black leather skirt or black leather shorts is fine but brighten it up with a different colour. Just a tip. Also Topshop have plenty of leater shorts and skirts on sale.

M is for...Magenta (yey, we're half way through)
Well, magenta is a nice colour anyhow but what I really want to talk about is magenta hair. I'm not really picky with colours, to be honest, so from now on "magenta" is going to be called "pink".
Something I realy want to do is dip dye my hair pink. I have blonde hair and I've seen others do it and it looks great. Excuse me for being "unoriginal" or "hipster" with my dip dyed hair but I'm not a very rebellious person, so dip dye is as far as I'll go for dying my hair. But I like these people's pink/"magenta" hair...

N is for...Natasha Poly

Is she not gorgeous? I know she's not a new face or anything but she's another one to watch in the magazines, papers and catwalks everywhere. I think she's so pretty that you can't not want to look like her.

O is for...Overlay
You know what I mean, don't you? Leather over lace, sequins over leather, crop tops over dresses, skirts over patterned leggings, socks and sandals (...if you really want to). Another big thing I've seen is overlaying plastic ponchos, jacket etc. over outfits. It actually looks very sweet and unique, gives a kind of  1980's-day-out-in-rainy-London look to everything. I'd wear it over a pretty dress, just to make it look interesting and less like "hey, I'm going to go on the log flume at the theme park".

Hope you like what I've done so far! More to come at some point in time...

Alphabetti Spagetti

I know I've missed a week but ssh and we'll catch up!
G is for...Galliano
As soon as I clicked on the homepage, I got a good vibe from this designer. I love love love the printed dresses and studded leather jackets AND the bright red lipstick on the models. I am officially in love (please excuse the cheesy magazine talk, I'm tired and slightly traumatised from watching the Woman in Black) with the mag-bags/tote bags they have on the website. LOOK AT THIS ONE WITH THE LITTLE MAN ON IT!
Very Bad Quality Image On My Part
Unfortunately, the clothes are quite expensive (that bag was originally 243 euros!) but what can stop you from taking inspiration from the models? Just look at the amazing outfits in these pictures...

See? It's easy really. Try pairing a leather jacket with a floaty dress or wearing a football shirt with a patterned skirt and leggings. Just take inspiration from the pictures OK?

H is for...Head to Toe Prints
Yes, this links in with the last picture. The main rule is, don't let them match. Head to toe prints is quite a risky trend to wear and you have to be reasonably brave to go all out there.*Cue booming, powerful, convincing voice* BUT THERE IS A WAY THAT YOU CAN ALL WEAR HEAD TO TOE PRINTS. If you're shy, you don't have to be too wild....
For Shy The Quieter People
Get a patterned top-blouse, t-shirt, crop top WoTeVs just make sure it's patterened ALL OVER. Like this...
Ditsy Print Crop Vest
Get a pair of denim shorts. PLAIN denim shorts preferably. You've done that? Good. Go get some tights. Patterened tights. Lace tights, stripy tights, leopard print tights, spotty tights, fishnet tights. Put them on under the shorts et voila. If you have any patterend shoes you think will look good, wear them too.

For People Who are Braver than Quieter People but Not Brave Enough to Go Wild
Surf Luxe 5
Take a good look at this Topshop model (yes I am obsessed with Topshop. No I don't care). Look at how the colour scheme is the same but the prints are very different. Noting is plain except her shoes. Do that. Get patterend leggings or tights and wear them underneath a patterend playsuit. Add a patterened scarf and plain shoes and throw everything together. WARNING: Excessiveness could lead to looking like the infant offspring of a hippy. Just saying.

For the Extremely Brave People who Don't Give a Damn
Go. Wild. That is all.

More Inspiration

YEY!

I is for...Iridescence
I have always loved sparkly things from a very young age. And now they are here for day as well as night. As you can imagaince, I am in my element! Of cousre, it's best not to go too wild with this trend. Think Chanel, less is more and elegance. Find your sequin covered item and make sure it is the main part of you're outfit. For instance, wear a sequin covered blazer with a plain floaty dress.  Wear sequin covered shorts with plain tops and tights and wear a sequin covered dress with nothing. Well obviously not, NOTHING. Not  wearing underwear is slightly creepy and unhygenic. Don't do it kids. As usual, I will post a set to explain what I mean.

J is for...Japanese inspiration
This is a pretty broad trend and easy to achieve. A good way to pull off this trend is wearing Japanese style dresses or prints. Prints are probably more available so thin a LOT of cherry blossom. I can't really explain it in any other way but a set is on it's way to explain everything.

I have so much to tell you guys but this post is starting to get very long and you're probably bored of me now so I'll save those stories for another time.  Peace out.
