shopruche.com

This site was recommended to me by one of my Polyvore contacts. It is similar to Modcloth except a little bit less quirky and more classic vintage. The site is beautiful with sketches of butterflies and birds all over the place. The photography used in the lookbook or to display the jewelry is extremely cute and completely inspiring, especially to me as I'm starting to become a budding photographer! The only irritating thing, is that this is an American based website and so I can't get any of the clothes in the UK. Bad times...Believe me if I could, I would be posting never ending pictures of me wearing the clothes because they are so beautiful. I should really be revising for my Maths and Welsh exams tomorrow but This Morning is  on and I love it! I don't even know why....probably because Chris O'Dowd is being interviewed.
By the way, I am going to take the pictures of my wedding outfit today in one of my breaks!

Sorry and Thank you...

Wow! I can't believe its been over a month since my last post! Sorry everybody...I've been so busy recently with exams and Duke of Edinburgh expeditions. Plus, all the Polyvore sets I thought I'd posted on here have gone. Keep your eyes open....they should turn up shortly!
Also a BIG thank you to my readers! Never thought I'd be this popular. Its great to hear suggestions of blog posts and answer your questions and stuff.
So the weather is boiling hot today-seriously weird for Welsh weather! And I've started to get my summer clothes out. Unfortunately, my outfit today isn't the most original, just a tank top and shorts although I am planning on putting on a very pretty vintage sun hat with a big lacy bow when I go out for a walk later. Nice to take a break after revising. I HATE revision so much!
Also, sorry for not posting the Royal Wedding pictures. They'll also be coming up as quickly as possible!
If possible, there will also be some posts and sets about 60s fashion as a new series of The Royal is out on Sunday and its going to be getting me all nostalgic.
Thanks and Sorry again Everybody!

The Royal Wedding

Right now I am sitting down in my living room with the rest of my family watching the Royal Wedding in Westminster Abbey. Everybody looks spectacular especially Kate! We are not a family that follows the Royal Family but at nine o'clock this morning I got up and dressed myself in my very own wedding outfit. I'm wearing a lace dress with a pearl neckline and a white crochet bolero on top. I have stolen the ring from my Vera Wang Princess perfume bottle and it is sitting proudly on my finger, the purple-ish jewels matching my nail varnish, and I'm carrying a bouquet of white tulips. My hair is half up half down with pearl beads dotted in it and a plait on the top of my head in a Swedish-like style. I will post pictures later, after I have taken them! Happy Royal Wedding Day!

Parisian Street

Parisian Street
Parisian Street by beth3796 featuring flat shoes

This is an outfit I saw a girl wearing as she sat down opposite us at a cafe on Champs Elysees. She looked great and I wish I could afford this outfit!

Parisian Fashion

I have just arrived back from a very culture filled trip in Paris. As I said before, I was hoping to do some shopping in the big stores like Christian Lacroix, Chanel etc and go to rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore but I never got the  chance. Being part of a cultured family has its ups and downs and one of the downs is that they don't do shops. On the plus side, I got to go to a LOT of art galleries like the Lovre, the Pompidou and Musee d'Orsay. I even saw the Mona Lisa. But travelling on the Metro and walking around a lot meant that I got to do a lot of people watching. If I'm honest with you, I thought that the French were quite frumpy and a few years behind in fashion. I guess I got that from the exchange students. They always come over wearing ankle swingers, Adidas hoodies and running shoes. But I am completely happy to admit that I was wrong! Everybody had their own style and everybody made a statement. I'll be recreating some of the best outfits I saw on Polyvore and posting them here. I hope everybody has a wonderful Easter.

Je Vais a Paris

I am so excited! Its seven school days until the Easter holidays and this year my family and I are going to the fashion capital-Paris.  Unfortunately for me, I don't think my parents have a shopping trip in mind but if I don't go to rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore I might have a fit on the Metro... Speaking of Paris and shops, I recently bought  a book (Sleeping Beauty) that Christian Lacroix has illustrated. It is the most beautiful book I think I've ever seen and I have read it twice already! As soon as I saw it standing on the shop bookshelf I fell in love with it. I'm meant to be on work experience but they won't  mind me buying The Most Beautiful Book Ever, will they?

Do you see what I mean? I wish I was as imaginative as Mr Lacroix....
From top to bottom:Cover of book with selected pictures, society lady illustration, Princess Beauty and the Royal Palace ready for the party.
The book isn't just Sleeping Beauty though, its actually kind of his biography for children! It connects how his career was born with the classic fairy tale and at the end of the book you will find a timeline of key points in his life and career. I have to say, Christian Lacroix is my new favourite designer!
